From 5 to 13 November 1917, the headquarters of XIV Corps temporarily acted as general headquarters of British forces in the Italian theatre. From 13 November 1917 to 10 March 1918, British Force in Italy had its own general headquarters, which had previously been the headquarters of Second Army on the Western Front. On 18 April 1918, XIV Corps merged with British Force in Italy, and corps headquarters became general headquarters for the theatre. In October 1918, XIV Corps was re-formed and placed under Tenth Army, Italian.[1] [2]
