Thomas May
Thomas William Ernest May (service number 1468) kept a diary while serving with this battalion in France:
- the original diary is held at the British Postal Museum and Archive along with other papers and photos donated by Thomas's son.
- The Battle of Festubert: 100 Year Anniversary blog post by Christ Taft at the British Postal Museum and Archive blog gives a few extracts from the diary, along with background information and photos of the battalion.
- New Acquisitions blog post by Emma Harper at the British Postal Museum and Archive blog includes more details of Thomas May's life and the collection of his papers donated to the museum, and shows a photo of him.
The blog posts state that Thomas William Ernest May was a sergeant in the Post Office Rifles, also known as 8th London Regiment, was at the battle of Festubert, and survived the war.
