Arthur Hawes

Arthur James Godball Hawes wrote a short diary of his experiences at the defence of Antwerp in October 1914. The diary has been published at The Diary of Arthur L. Linfoot blog. The diary is dated November 1914 and was written while Arthur was interned in the Netherlands. His official service record confirms that he joined Hawke Battalion on 22 August 1914.
