* import and test Wikipedia citation templates: imported and seem to be working. No performance problems even with 40 instances of {{tl|Cite book}} per page. Changed documentation pages to link to Wikipedia so we don't have to maintain documentation here and don't have to import all required templates and modules. Still need to:

* look into replacing {{tl|RefLives}} with a more general template to represent a person, link to any canonical source for their identity, and possibly insert microformats

* make some notes on how to represent ships

Historian and palaeographer. I run Different Hand Ltd, doing manuscript transcription, XML markup, research assistance and related services. My PhD thesis and published work are on horses and cavalry in the English Civil War. I got into First World War research through tracing my great-grandad, who was in 1/5th Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment. I was a moderator at Your Archives and used to blog at Investigations of a Dog.
